With a family-friendly environment and a range of activities, there's something for everyone at Morawelon Camping and Caravanning.

Morawelon camping and caravanning

A beautiful family run campsite that has been in our family since it opened in the early 1920's. Nestled between the backdrop of Carningli ( Mountain of Angels ) and the stunning waterfront sea views of Parrog and Newport sands (often called Traeth Mawr which is Welsh for big beach). You really could not find a better location for a seaside holiday than this stunning campsite.

Below is a full list of all the facilities on site:

  • 2 male showers and 3 toilets and urinals. Showers run on a token meter.
  • 2 female showers and 3 toilets and hairdryer. Showers and hairdryer run on a token meter.
  • A free outdoor rinse off shower.
  • Under cover glass screened wash up area with sinks, bowls, draining racks and hot and cold water.
  • Chemical waste disposal unit.
  • Fresh drinking water tap units and fire points in each camping field.
  • Recycling for paper, glass and plastic waste.
  • Ample areas in the camping fields for recreational purpose.
  • Canoes that you may take down the estuary in return for a donation to one of our local charities or R.N.L.I. Life jackets in various sizes are provided.
  • We operate a dog friendly site, though dogs must be kept on a lead as there are sheep in the neighbouring fields.

Morawelon Cafe bar and restaurant provides a stylish and relaxing place to relax with tea, coffee and scrumptious cakes. Also there is a selection of light bites, fish and chips and a full a la carte menu.  We are fully licensed for alcohol too.

Soft whippy ice cream and various ice creams and lollies are available from the restaurant. The restaurant has panoramic views of Newport bay and a spacious south facing patio at the back of the restaurant provides a dramatic view of Carn Ingli. Dogs are welcome on the patio and fresh drinking water bowls are placed out for them each day.

The Pembrokeshire coastal path is literally the border between the campsite and the sea.This coastal path stretches for186 miles(299km) from Amroth to Poppit sands, St.Dogmaels. Most of this coastline faces west and offers at varying points exceptionally stunning coastal views in every direction.

From the car park adjacent to Morawelon restaurant, cafe, bar you can take the Poppit Rocket coastal bus service which can take you either north or south to your chosen section of the coastal path enabling you to have the freedom to explore this magnificent coastline. When it's low tide it's possible to wade from the Parrog across the estuary over to Newport sands in a matter of minutes. Alternatively there is a public footpath along the estuary as far as the iron bridge and then over the bridge and back along the other side of the estuary to Newport sands.This route may take 45mins to an hour depending on your pace.

All in all this is a superb base for a seaside holiday, whether your exploring Pembrokeshire on your own or holidaying with your family.
